During my recent tour of Copenhagen for the city’s annual design festival, 3daysofdesign, I spent some time exploring 101 Copenhagen‘s showroom while getting to know the latest pieces in their collection.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the brand 101 Copenhagen, allow me to quickly introduce you. Since launching in 2017, the distinguishable pieces of the label’s collection have quickly become icons amongst the Danish design landscape. While most know the brand for their range of sculptural ceramic vases and table accessories, 101 Copenhagen’s diverse collection encompasses furniture, lighting, and other functional interior accessories.
Each of their designs is informed by a Japanese minimalist aesthetic coupled with a commitment to craft and longevity. During 3daysofdesign, 101 Copenhagen introduced several new designs, along with a few new finishes to already existing icons in their collection. One of my favorite additions is the extension of the Sumo Vase series and Duck Jar in a gorgeous Bone White ceramic color. The finish is soft, creamy, and gives a feminine feeling to each piece. Another new design that caught my attention was the Podium series. Available in three sizes, each fiber concrete Podium is defined by strong architectural lines and a deep coffee finish for a bold but flexible style.
