Founded in 2020 by Adah Chan, Baea is a new contemporary interiors brand committed to preserving and celebrating nature through consciously made products that softly reflect the calming and abundant beauty found outdoors.
Through Baea, Adah has woven together the experience and knowledge gleaned from her family’s multigenerational background in the textiles industry with her adoration for nature and slow-living. Baea’s foundational collection offers a thoughtful range of bedding, home textiles, and ceramic accessories — each infused with small details that echo nature’s serene and timeless beauty.
Baea makes all of their products with a deep commitment to sustainability — one that’s guided by the belief that an environmentally conscious home starts with consuming less and investing in natural products that will endure for years to come. In order to keep their impact minimal, Baea has partnered with a select group of manufacturers and artisans who slowly craft their products in small quantities. Their collections are based on light colorways since working with subdued tones requires less water consumption and chemicals throughout the dying process, and Baea also recycles 40% of the water used during their textile processing. All of the brand’s packaging is made from biodegradable materials, and Baea has made it their mission to seek out the most sustainable option whenever possible. Even the tiniest of details, such as the buttons used on Baea duvets, come from renewable plant-based materials and are made from the nut of tagua palms.
I recently updated our bed with Baea’s Merrow pillow cases (in both oxford and standard styles) which are made in Portugal using 100% organic cotton sateen. I love the way the fabric feels cool and buttery against my skin, especially since I often sleep on my side. Embroidery details in beige and off-white border the edges, softly defining each pillow while creating a simple tailored look. Merrow is one of the more subtle styles in Baea’s collection, but styles like Meadow and Rocks reflect nature more distinctly. Each is exquisitely detailed and consciously understated, drawing gentle ties to elements like fields or geological rock forms through carefully sewn embroidery motifs.
Another aspect that makes Baea particularly unique is their ability to produce Bespoke commissions and made-to-order bed linens. Working in daily unison with their artisan sewers and producing partners allows Baea to provide their organic cotton bedding in custom sizes, or with color-matched embroidery details so that the bedding ties in perfectly to any interior concept.
