Atop Castle Hill on the Buda side of the river, you’ll find perhaps my favorite place in Budapest – the Fisherman’s Bastion
This white bastion reminds me of a castle from a fairytale and its prime location offers a breathtaking view of the Parliament Building from across the river. Sven and I found ourselves back at this beautiful city landmark several times during our stay in Budapest – it’s just as stunning in the moonlight as it is in the sunshine.
Here are a few shots from our first visit…
Everything about this place is dreamy and romantic.
And yes… I was feeling a little bit like a Disney princess – go ahead and judge 😉
Also, the view from Panoramia Café & Bar is absolute perfection.
We shared a bottle of wine here as we watched the sun set on the Parliament Building – something I’ll be sure we do again during our next visit to this lovely city. I would definitely say that no trip to Budapest would be complete without exploring the enchanting grounds of the Fisherman’s Bastion – it’s a special place where the city’s old soul still feels very much alive.
