FRAMA’s Studio Store in central Copenhagen is unlike any showroom I’ve ever explored. Each time I visit, something new catches my attention. Housed inside St. Pauls Apothecary, the multi-disciplinary design brand has renovated the historic building in the most uncanny way imaginable, creating a captivating interior that’s raw, uncontrived, honest, and full of curiosity.
Instead of pursuing a typical renovation course, FRAMA decided to lean into the full history of the building, resurfacing each room layer-by-layer to uncover the nature in which the house evolved over the years prior. This textural and raw interior acts as the perfect backdrop for FRAMA’s diverse collection of products — a unique mix of furniture, lighting, interior accessories, and wellness goods which are grounded in natural materials, simple geometry, and the brand’s open approach to living.
Last week during 3daysofdesign, I had the chance to drop by St. Pauls Apothecary for a quick tour of the shop and studio overhead. A few new products were on display for the event, such as the Bauhaus-inspired Richardt Chair in steel and canvas, and Chair 01 in warm brown. The space is ever evolving, and recently FRAMA have transformed the former kitchen area into a small café. So if you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to drop by for a coffee and turn around the shop.
