For 110 years, Danish interiors brand Fredericia has been crafting designs which honor the heritage of Scandinavian quality and function. Their product range is based on a beautiful mix of mid-century Danish design classics and timeless contemporary pieces that infuse the collection with modernity.
During my recent visit to Copenhagen for 3daysofdesign, I spent the evening touring through Fredericia’s stunning showroom. It’s situated in the heart of the city in a historic building that once served as the Royal Mail House, and it’s one of my favorite showrooms to visit. I’m always taken by the beautiful architectural features of the space as much as I am by the design.
Fredericia presented several new introductions and reintroductions during 3daysofdesign this year. I was thrilled to see the relaunch of the BM67 Coffee Table, which was originally designed by Børge Mogensen in 1956. Made to embrace honesty in craft, the connection points of the wood and brass become the main intrigue of the table (which is available in 3 wood options). Also new to the collection this year is a stunning sofa series designed by Damian Williamson. Available as both a two and three seater, the Konami Sofa is a gorgeous example of sculptural yet minimal design. Softened by gentle curves and graceful lines, I can imagine this sofa complimenting so many unique interior concepts. The shape is versatile, and thoughtfully refined thanks to upholstery tailoring that accentuates the elegant profile.
In the images below, you’ll see quite a few up-close shots which spotlight the extraordinary detailing of Fredericia’s products. The craftsmanship of every piece is exceptional, as is the attention to detail when it comes to proportions and balance. Materiality plays a significant role in each design, with an emphasis on natural materials such as wood, stone, leather, and wool. I’m always impressed by the level of refinement Fredericia works with, regardless of the material. Their entire collection is fused together by an unwavering sense for quality, craft, and ageless silhouettes.
