Autumn is here in Munich, so with the change of the seasons I’ve been making some changes around the home as well. Here are just a few images from our flat as of late… Still haven’t strayed far from the neutral tones and simple approach to styling.
Last week, I spent some time letting go of some of the lesser used pieces we have around our home. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve really grown to love the feeling of living with fewer but better things. Having less just seems to simplify life, leaving me with more time to focus on family, friends, and my work. I still dream of the day when I could have a small studio for my design and painting projects. The time isn’t right for now, but I’ll keep carrying that vision with me until it’s meant to be. Hopefully by then, I’ll have more time for creativity too! This year has been an absolute whirlwind, and while I’ve enjoyed returning to a “pre-pandemic” life, I’ve found my body and spirit wasn’t completely ready for the pace. Maybe it won’t ever be, and that’s ok too. Since returning home from Copenhagen the other week, I’ve been hit with back-to-back sicknesses unfortunately. So I’ve shifted my focus to tuning into my energy and not pushing myself too hard… especially when my body is asking for rest. It’s easier said than done, but I’m thankful to have our home as a refuge for recovery.
Other than clearing out a few items, I’ve made some slight changes to home such as moving my desk from the bedroom into the living room. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of doing this sooner! Now our bedroom finally feels like a space for full relaxation and not a home office. Having the separation has been so impactful. In recent days, I’ve enjoyed spending the morning on the sofa with a few burning candles while waiting for the sun to fully rise. Nurturing myself through these calm moments has also been giving me the energy I need to nurture the development of my brand. There are a few exciting projects in the works for By Rebecca Goddard… Something very big is on the horizon and I’m counting down the days until I can share the news!
I hope you enjoy scrolling these images of our home. Most of the items featured here can be found here via my ‘Shop Our Home‘ directory. But if you ever need help sourcing something, feel welcome to reach out via email or Instagram.
With care, Rebecca
