Hidden behind a beautiful sandstone façade in the bustling heart of Nuremberg’s oldtown, you’ll find the soothing and chic Melter Hotel & Apartments.

Sven and I checked into the Melter Hotel during our recent trip to Bavaria. In contrast to the medieval and charming city that plays host to the hotel, the Melter is an oasis of contemporary design filled with cosmopolitan flair. We had the pleasure of staying in a spacious and relaxing Comfort Apartment, with a view of the historic pedestrian street just below our window. All 53 apartment-style rooms at the Melter are wonderfully appointed. Each is equipped with a sleek and functional kitchenet, Nespresso coffee machine, air-conditioning, wifi, and large television – making this hotel a great pick for longer stays. However, what I enjoyed most was the warm hospitality and Nordic-inspired interior styling, with thoughtful design details in every corner.

Melter is located in the center of Nuremberg, and only a 10 minute walk to the main train station and 15 minutes to the city’s famous castle. The neighborhood has many opportunities for sight-seeing, shopping, and dining. Be sure not to miss breakfast at the hotel’s onsite eatery, MONDO.
