I’m so happy I finally got my balcony put together – it’s become the best spot in the flat for brunching. Yesterday, I walked down to the local bakery and picked up some yummy almond brioche toast to have with some berries and a latte. So good!
I can’t believe I bought a bright red dress – and I absolutely love it!
But what’s not to love? Wrap dress + silk + ruffles = summer sundress perfection.

I’ll share some personal news tomorrow – this week has been really unique to say the least! But now, I’m going to have some tea then go to bed.

“Romance” is making a comeback and I’m pretty happy about it!
Here is my summer shopping cart from SheIn! Since we’re having a long holiday directly following the design show, I decided to buy some new dresses because they are my favorite thing to wear during travel. Dresses just makes packing and getting ready so much easier when you’re on the go!

I just love that the “romance” style is making a come back – I love girly girl things – ruffles, florals, flounce, all of it! I think these styles suite so many people so well and it’s such a soft side of the trendy fashion industry right now.
I plan to pair some of these mini dresses with some chunky heels and either my Chloe Faye or Chanel Le Boy – The flouncy off-shoulder tops will be paired with A-line skirts, Levis, or cut-offs for a more casual look.
Have you girls every shopped on SheIn? I’ve bought several items from here and have rarely been disappointed! They have so many options that it’s hard to decided on what you want to buy!
Maybe I’ll share how I style each piece during our travels 🙂

Hi Guys,
I haven’t written in so long for several reasons.
More than a week ago, Sven left for his long holiday so we spent our last days together just focusing on enjoying each other.
These are a few photos I snapped from a dinner we enjoyed on the balcony before he left. Sven made the baguettes and then I made them into sandwiches of all types 🙂 We’ve been really into apple, avocado, blue cheese sandwiches lately – So good!
Since he’s been gone, I’ve also been really busy with work and family things. But I also got SO sick. I thought I was going to die… or at least felt like it! I’m 99% sure it was food poisoning. It was so bad that I’m only now starting to feel like myself again – I was completely incapacitated for a few days. Thankfully I’m feeling much better.
This time of year is super busy with work since we are almost ready for NeoCon (where we will be releasing the first collection I’ve design – I’m so excited). Sven is going to join me in Chicago in June for the show and then we are heading to Europe for a holiday! I just can’t wait 🙂
I sure do miss him – life just isn’t as much fun without your bestfriend 😉
XOXO

Hello! Here are some photos from our (almost) perfect day on the water.
Today, Sven and I decided to go sailing. We made some sandwiches, got on our summer clothes, and headed to the country-side lake where we rented a nice little sail boat.
Sven has sailed plenty of times back in Germany, but I’ve never sailed before so we were already off to a good start – I learned very quickly that sailing is a team activity that requires a fair amount of communication 😛
The wind was good and Sven was having fun showing me the ropes… literally.
The sun was also good and we were basically the only boat on the water – super perfect for tanning 😉
THEN the most unexpected thing happened… our mast completely broke off of our boat. A nice gust of wind came and – CRACK – just like that, it snapped off and we were stuck out in the middle of the lake with no engine, no oars, and no way to sail back to land without any other boat in sight.
Sven was worried that we were going to get a gust from under the sail that we hovering over the water and said we were in a really dangerous situation because it could flip us over completely – thankfully that didn’t happen.
I actually thought the whole situation was pretty funny and couldn’t help myself from laughing. It was just such a crazy thing to have happen in the middle of what, in all other regards, was a completely perfect Sunday on the water. Thankfully I had packed my cell phone in the dry bag, so we were able to call the marina and have someone come rescue us.
Once we were finally back on dry land, we finished our picnic and then headed back home – boy, did I get sunburnt! The man at the marina gave us a raincheck to come sailing again for free since our day was sort of “ruined” by the fact that our boat broke. We might go again next weekend since it is the last weekend we have together before he heads off for a month of travel before meeting me in Chicago for the furniture fair.
Anyways, that was our adventure for the weekend 😉
Talk soon,

I’ve finally updated the balcony with real furniture!
You can see from the before-and-after photos below that it was looking pretty uninviting, but after the addition of this cute little bistro set and a few plants, I think it looks pretty charming now 🙂
We’ve already enjoyed a few meals out there in spite of the noise from the train – it’s always blowing the horn so loud when it goes by but it’s something Sven and I have learned to live with.
I’m thinking about getting a few more plants for the corner behind the table. I want to have a little herb garden and maybe a palm tree – I ended up moving the split leaf philodendron (the big one in the left corner) back inside because it didn’t seem to be enjoying the direct sunlight very much. Now I have the perfect excuse to go to the garden shop! I’ll share more photos later once the “garden” is growing 😉 and you know I’ll be sharing plenty of photos from balcony dinners over the next few months 😛
Spring has sprung inside my flat!
And how pretty are these branches? There is a tree on the property where I work and it bloomed these beautiful branches last week, so I took a few home with me. I love how bright the contrast is in the apartment and they look so nice in the vase from H&M home 🙂
Have a lovely weekend! – Rebecca
So… After a bit of deliberation and a fair amount of saving,
I decided on buying the Chloe Faye bag in Motty Grey. I’ve had my eye on this dreamy bag since my early college days, so the simple fact that my taste has stayed the same for so many years makes me feel really good about the investment.
I actually found this bag on Overstock and it was being sold new at a discount.
If you’re on the hunt for a designer handbag, I would highly recommend looking at Overstock on a regular basis. You might luck out and find the bag you’ve been searching for at a lower price! Originally, I had planned on buying this bag during my trip to Chicago for my first collection release, but I decided to go ahead and buy it when I found it priced lower than standard retail 🙂

Guten Morgen
Yesterday’s spring weather decided to leave us and now it’s cold and rainy – the perfect weather for a lazy Sunday.
I slept in far later than normal and then we had home-made cinnamon rolls (Zimt-Schnecken) and coffee on the sofa. I love that Sven enjoys baking so much – he’s always making such yummy things! But I also despise him for it a little because it means I have to spend more time at the gym 😉
In a little while, we’re going to head to the sports center for some rock climbing – we went the other day and it was so much fun! I had never rock climbed before so I now have quite a few sore muscles that I don’t think I’ve ever worked out. The day after I climbed for the first time, I thought my arms were going to fall off 😛

Hello!
I hope you all have had a nice weekend so far – Sven and I have been making the best of ours. Today we went to the arboretum and had a picnic. I made some sandwiches from the bread Sven baked yesterday. One was with avocado, blue cheese, and green apple – the other was avocado, tomato, and mozzarella. So good!
I’m so happy that it’s finally spring time and warm outside! I feel like the sun is bringing me back to life 🙂

Hello loves,
Today, Sven and I woke up early and hit the road for the surprise trip I planned for us. He didn’t know the destination until we were almost there – now we are in Charleston!
I’ll share more photos later on – now we’re off to explore 🙂
Talk soon,
