So here is the yummy breakfast Sven and I enjoyed this morning – fluffy pancakes topped with fresh chopped strawberries and powdered sugar. So good!
We had a really nice weekend relaxing a lot, eating nice food, and doing a bit of shopping. I’ll show you some of the things we picked up while we were out later on this week. But now, we’re going to use the laptop to watch a show on Netflix so I have to go!

Hope you all are having a lovely weekend. We have been enjoying a lazy day at home since Sven just returned from a trip to Washington DC.
Above are a few of my favorite picks for a cozy weekend at home – comfy barrette (I just got no. 1 from H&M, so cute), snuggly blankets and sweaters, lots of espresso, reading, music, etc.
We have been listening to a lot of my old vinyl lately. Our favorite right now is Neil Diamond’s 1972 album Moods (listen here) – so many good tracks on both sides, but my favorite is Play Me.
Now we’re going to go to a local flower shop that I’ve been meaning to check out and then we’re going to the cinema 🙂

I wanted to write a little post about some of my favorite buys from 2016 – above are a few images of my favorite things I got throughout the year.
I’m really happy with probably the most significant purchase, a VW Jetta – I hadn’t really planned on buying a new car, but mine was totaled when I was hit by a really scary driver! I’m also really happy with my leather jacket from All Saint and vintage 501 Levis which I found on eBay – I love how timeless both of these styles are and I’m sure I’ll wear them for a long time. I’m still obsessed with the Delonghi espresso machine I bought and literally use it everyday – sometimes more than once! The Rosefield watch my family got me for my birthday is also something I use everyday – I love how it makes my outfits feel more complete and it’s so nice to be able to swap out the bands for a new color! I’m still in love with how simple and elegant my black leather shoulder bag from Genuine People is – it’s another item that pairs so well with so many looks and is the perfect size. I spent a lot of time last year wearing my comfy loungewear from Calvin Kline – maybe I’ll buy the matching legging to wear this winter since it’s too cold for the shorts! The rose colored dress from Nelly is one of the prettiest I have and I’ve been thinking of more special occasional to wear it! And lastly, the silver star is something I bought in Mexico to keep as a pretty memory of the trip Sven and I took in December – it reminds me of so many good adventures 🙂

Anyways, above are some photos I took a long long time ago but forgot to share – these are photos of the first shoulder bag I designed/made a few weeks ago! I’ve been playing around in the sewing lab during my lunch break at work and have been salvaging the leftover cuttings from the leather upholstery – perks of working for a high-end furniture company 😉
I wish I had more time to explore all the ideas I have when it comes to handbags, but my days are so busy that I haven’t been able to do much sewing lately.
This little bag is very much a “prototype” and is far from perfect, but I do enjoy the “making” process and it’s fun to wear something that’s completely my own 🙂

Over the weekend, we had a beautiful snow at home. Here are a few shots from our Sunday morning walk to brunch. Max, one of Sven’s friends from home, was in town from Germany. Sven and I had planned on showing him a few fun places in the area, including a vineyard with llamas! But the snow so much that we ended up staying downtown at my flat the whole weekend which was a lot of fun too!
I spent most of the weekend bundled up in my favorite hat by Steve Madden (here) and a snuggly pink knit scarf from Calvin Klein that I’ve been wearing all winter.

Happy New Years!
Here are a few shots from the hike we took while in the Black Mountains in Celo. We went on a long hike through the forest and then up to the summit of this grassy knob. It was really pretty but also really cold! But the view was worth it 🙂
During our trip, I started doing a little bit of filming – I’m hoping to put together a short film of our latest adventure as an intro into “vlogging” perhaps. Holiday ends tomorrow and I’ll be back to my normal working schedule, so hopefully I’ll get back on a normal blogging schedule as well!
Sven and I are going to go get pizza now to celebrate the New Year – last night, we were both so sick feeling from a nasty cold we’ve had that we didn’t even stay up until midnight! Guess that means we’re getting old 😛

Hey fellows,
So here are some recent shots of my winter bedding. How pretty is this blush knit blanket? I’ve had fun moving it back and forth between the foot of my bed and the sofa – it think it looks nice in both places.
The knit, duvet, and shams are all from Target.
I know I’ve said this before, but the bedroom is so tiny, it’s hard to even photograph the whole room! All I can fit in there is the bed and table on each side of the bed. I bought one of my patio tables in from outside since we’ve not really been using the balcony since it’s cold and all of my plants out there are dead – it works well at the foot of the bed I think.
Sven and I are now off to Celo for a few nights! I’m excited to be back in the mountains, there is a tiny chance of snow tonight so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
I’ll take photos and share them when we get back since I won’t have internet there 🙂

Hello,
Here are a few more photos from the afternoon we spent on the beach of Playa Del Carmen. We packed a picnic, our books, and relaxed while little boats passed by. I miss our sunny vacation so much, but tomorrow we’ll head to Celo in the mountains to stay in a beautiful, rustic home with our friends. I’m looking forward to going somewhere a bit colder since it’s been really unseasonably warm here, especially for the holidays – the forecast isn’t calling for snow, but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed.

So here are a few photos from own recent visit to Mexico. I took so so many which I’ve been posting to Instagram – if you follow me, I’m sure by now you’ve noticed this 😛
We had such a great time and the weather was so fantastic. I’m actually feeling really sad that it’s over and have already started thinking about where I want to go next!
The time we spent in Cancún was nice, but I really enjoyed our time in Playa Del Carmen more. We stayed at the most charming Airbnb which had its own private rooftop terrace complete with a pool – how lovely?! The last photo is one I snapped of our little flat’s entrance as we were leaving – I’ll share more photos later 🙂
We ate a lot of delicious fresh food, spent some time by the ocean, and really enjoyed exploring and adventuring around the Yucatán peninsula. I hate how quickly our time there went by though 🙁
Thankfully we having a holiday cocktail party to go to tonight so I’m hoping that will help lift my spirits again – I think I came back with a case of the post vacation blues!

Hope everyone is staying warm in the chilly winter weather! It’s finally begun feeling cold which makes the fact that Christmas is right around the corner actually feel real! Above are some photos I took the other day. How pretty are these sweaters from H&M? They are so cozy for the winter and look really cute with relaxed Levi’s and ankle boots. It’s been my go-to outfit for this season. But today, we fly to Mexico where it will be so much warmer and there is no need for cozy sweaters – I can’t wait to wear shorts and dresses again for the next few days 🙂
I’ll be able to use my phone so hopefully I’ll be able to share a few photos while I’m there 😉
I’ve been really tired lately so a vacation is exactly what I need to become “re-energized” I think. I’m not sure if it’s work, the short days, or something else, but I’ve been so unmotivated lately! Hopefully a little relaxation, sunshine, and lovely culture will make me feel more alive and energetic again.
