Vintage 501

    Hey guys,

Lately I’ve been so obsessed with these vintage Levis 501 jeans – I love the feel of the sturdy material and the high-wasted fit.  It took me what felt like forever to find them in my size, but after searching the internet high and low, I finally snagged a few pairs on eBay of all places.

Buying these jeans online is such a gamble because they are vintage and each pair has shrunk/stretched during it’s life. Thankfully I found a seller in England who measures each pair and sells them based off the actual measurement opposed to the label size.

You can find these jeans here!

If you don’t see your size, message the seller and ask to be notified when they find a pair which matches your measurements!

I think that these are so perfect with boots and loose sweaters, but they also look really cute with a fitted turtle neck and heels!

    Gluten free berry pie

    November 22, 2016

    Hey peeps,

So over the weekend, Sven and I made a gluten-free berry pie which we took to game night with friends. If I’m being honest, he did most of the work and sort of improved the recipe – I’ll try to remember everything which went into it from memory though:

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees

    Crust:
    1 cup sweet rice flour
1/2 cup shredded coconut flakes (unsweetened)
1/2 stick butter (chilled and sliced thin)
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp vanilla extract

    – mix everything together with your hands
    – press into bottom of pie form
    – bake until golden

While that’s in the oven, you can make the filling

    Filling:
    3/4 cup frozen strawberries
    3/4 cup frozen raspberries
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    ****** mix separate
    1/4 cup corn starch mixed
    1/4 cup warm water

    – place berries, sugar, and vanilla in small pot
    – heat on stove-top, mashing berries as they unfreeze
    – slowly add corn starch and water mixture
    – heat until thickened
    – pour your filling into your baked crust

    Topping:
1 cup frozen blueberries and blackberries
    1/4 cup coconut chips (unsweetened)

    – cover your pie with toppings
    – allow to cool on rack

    FIN! Bon Appétit

Just so you know, all of these measurements are total guesses 🙂 I think that they are more or less close to what we did, but since we didn’t use a recipe, there’s no way to know for sure, haha! We’re going to my parents tomorrow for the holiday and plan to make another gluten free pie since my mom and sister don’t eat wheat – I’ll try to actually take notes of what/how much we use. It’s going to be really fun because this will be Sven’s first Thanksgiving experience!

    XOXO

    Sunset at home

    November 14, 2016

    Hey babes,

So the sun is almost completely out of my life now – every morning, it rises on my drive to the office and then by the time I leave, I see it set in my rearview.

On the bright side (pun intended 😛 ) the colors of the setting sun in my living room have been so beautiful lately – lots of long shadows and golden light.

Above are a few recent shots. Now that it’s almost the holiday season and finally getting cold, I’m looking to add a few “wintery” touches to my home. I’ve been thinking about velvet throw pillows, evergreen clippings, white candles, and a chunky knit throw blanket 🙂

When I find the perfect ones, I’ll share more photos.

Through my iPhone – Early November

    myweekends

    Hey babes,

These are just a few photos from my iPhone over the last few weeks. I haven’t done one of these post in a while, so I thought it would be fun to share a more personal look into what I’ve been up to lately.

Sven and I have been spending the past few weekends enjoying the more relaxing side of life together which has been nice. We both really like delicious/fresh food and coffee, so most of what we do revolves around eating. Things could be worse, right? 😛

Do you guys like these types of post, or are my post about fashion finds and interior more interesting? I’ve been so busy with work, exercise, and life that I’ve become a little uninspired as to what to blog about. Post a comment and let me know what you would like to see more of 🙂

    Every day favorites

    November 4, 2016

    Hey peeps,

So I’ve shared these every day favorites before, but I thought I would share them again since I always get compliments on these things – my lovely watch from Rosefield and bag from Genuine People.

Both Rosefield and Genuine People do minimalism so perfectly in my opinion.

My watch is the Bowery, but Rosefield just released a smaller style which I’ve had my eye on – the Tribeca.

The leather bag is no longer available, but Genuine People has tons of other style which are really nice and definitely worth having a look at.

    All Saints

    Hey guys,

So I decided to treat myself and ordered this most beautiful jacket for the season from All Saints – I thought it would be appropriate to share these shots today since it also happens to be All Saints Day 🙂

How nice are the details on this piece? I love the color too! It’s going to look so perfect with creams, greys, blacks, and my favorite color pink.

I haven’t had a chance to wear it because the weather has been so shockingly warm – too warm for a suede jacket even! I can hardly believe it. Today is a little cooler but tomorrow is going to be in the 80s again! I’m ready for the fall weather to stay – so far, it’s been too fickle for me to enjoy.

    Pretty Rosè Flowers

    October 30, 2016

    Hey babes,

How pretty are these flowers? I just love how dantie and soft they look in my home…and they are also my favorite color.

It’s funny how much happiness $4 worth of flowers will bring you – but maybe it doesn’t take much to make me happy 🙂

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

    Baguette breakfast

    October 24, 2016
    _mg_8686 _mg_8692 _mg_8704

    Hey guys,

These are just a few shots from breakfast yesterday. I wish I could take credit for the beautiful baguettes, but those came from Sven. I think he has an agenda to make me fat – it’s impossible for me to say no to delicious, fresh-baked bread 😛

I’m hoping that he will share his recipe with me – I tried making some of my own a few weeks ago. They were so terrible, I don’t even think a bird would have eaten them. I think my main mistake was using gluten free flour… go figure.

I wish I had more time to shoot, but with the days getting shorter and the sunlight going away so quickly after I’m home from work, it’s been a bit of a challenge. I finally updated my iPhone to the 7 on Sunday (I’ve been using a 5 because I ruined my 6 a while back) so hopefully I’ll be able to use that to shot with also 🙂 It’s way easier to transport than my DSLR!

    Sweaters and skirts

    October 22, 2016
    skirts-and-sweaters

Good morning babes and happy weekend 🙂

Above are a few pieces I picked for this early fall from H&M. I bought 1, 2, and 4 in the store the other day and am thinking about ordering 3 and 5. I’m really obsessed with a-line skirts paired with soft sweaters, and ankle boots right now – so cute.

Sven is in the kitchen making baguettes and I’m still in bed drinking coffee and being lazy – so I guess it’s time for me to get up and be productive with him 😛

    Hey peeps,

Here are a few shots of my entry hallway. I’ve never really photographed this area before so I thought it would be fun to share how it looks right now.

The desk used to be in my living room, but I moved it a few weeks ago and am now using it as a “catch-call” in the entry way. I think it’s a little wide for the space, but it still works nicely there I think. I’ve had it for such a long time – since I moved to my first apartment in Charlotte actually.

The wall hooks and hanger are items sold by the company I design for, Davis Furniture. You can find them online here. here

The shoulder bag is from Genuine People – mine is no longer available but they have so many other pretty bags. Check them out here.

    Have a nice day!

    Hey babies,

Today I’ve been so lazy – it’s been really nice. After I finally decided to get out of bed, I tried something new for breakfast and made some delicious fresh juice to go along with my fruit and coffee.

    Here’s what I used –
    unsweetened coconut milk
    honeydew melon
    kiwi

It turned out so good and so refreshing! I’ll for sure make this again 🙂

    Olive heels

    _mg_8557

    Hey peeps,

How cute are these suede olive shoes? I love that the chunky heel has come back in style – they are so much easier to wear.

I got these on Amazon of all places for a really great price! They are so perfect with jeans and a simple top or sweater – for sure my favorite shoe for the beginning of fall.
