This is a post that I’ve been wanting to share for quite some time! And now, it’s finally time to announce our big news – and no, we’re not having a baby. We heard that there were some speculations. 😉
In December, Sven and I will be moving to Europe!
We’ll be heading to Hamburg, Germany – the city where Sven grew up – just in time to celebrate the Holidays with his family. I know that he’s so excited to go home, and I’m excited that he is taking me with him!
It was a huge decision to make, and every day has been somewhat of an emotional roller coaster. Funny enough, I feel like I’m still standing in line waiting to get on the ride! There is still so much to do between now and December, and the anticipation has been building for a while now. I don’t think it will begin to feel completely real until things are set into motion though! For the past few weeks, I’ve been slowly inching my way forward, trying to take care of all the little things one has to take care of before moving halfway around the world. But in spite of all the stresses that come with such a wild event, I’ve never felt more sure of anything in my entire life because I didn’t make this decision alone. I made it with my best friend.
The most difficult part of this change, hands down, will be the distance between my family and friends. For the past few months, I’ve been spending every chance I get with the people I love – squeezing in as much time as possible before we have an ocean between us.
To be completely honest, I don’t think the reality of this change has completely set in. This morning, I woke up and went to work like I would any other day. After work, I came home and spent the evening in my flat like I would any other night. But in exactly eight weeks from this very moment, I’ll be starting an entirely new chapter in my life. Thankfully I have Sven as my co-author 🙂
